All it took was an idea and determination to give birth to a new tradition at Granite Hills: My Best Friend’s Closet.
At the end of each semester, there is a feeling of both excitement and concern around the Granite campus. This worry is caused by the Winter Formal and Prom. The downside to these much anticipated dances is the cost associated with dinner, tickets, and, yes, of course, the purchase of that special dress.
“Last year, we were very successful. We got over a hundred dresses donated from people within our community and many different accessories to go along,” stated Corona, the leader of My Best Friend’s Closet this year.
This project receives help from many other people at Granite Hills as well.
Corona told the Grizzly Gazette, “Mr. Marroquin is trying to get us a bigger room to run the dress shop and Mrs. Rodriguez and Ms. Chacon help make sure everything is run properly. They are all really hands on with the whole process."
My Best Friend’s Closet is planning to open up for business again in November to give plenty of time for donations and check outs. If you would like to donate a dress you can bring it by Rodriguez, Chacon or Hackett’s room.
To check out a dress, visit My Best Friends Closet, try on a gown, and pay a $15 check out fee that is given back once the dress is returned.

I really like how they are doing this and it is opean to everyone to this school.
