The Granite Hills cheerleaders broke down the little girls into age groups.
“We made tons of signs and planned everything out ahead of time to make it all come together,” explained Madison Stubbs, a sophomore varsity cheerleader.
The cheerleaders worked strenuously the whole month to make this cheer camp happen. The age groups were four year olds, five to six, seven to nine, and 10 to 12 year olds.
“I was surprised how many little girls were there attending for the first time; it was pretty cool to see what goes on and how hard the Granite Cheerleaders work,” said Victoria Paz, a freshman at Granite Hills.
The cheerleaders used the main gym, mini gym, wrestling room, and room 205-206. The parents left their children after check in and the campers went to work coloring their goodie bag. After the little cheerleaders were done coloring, they were led to the mat to play games and get warmed up.
“My first time at the little girls cheer camp was a great experience; I had a lot of fun working with the girls on how to become a better cheerleader,” commented Yareli Robledo.
The Granite cheerleaders introduced themselves and then showed each age group the dance and cheer they would soon be learning. The little girls then got up and broke into their groups. The little girls worked very hard, and soon had a lunch break. After lunch, they had the opportunity to get their faces painted and do a dessert activity with their age group.
“Watching the rehearsal right before we went on stage was really exciting for the little girls, and us. We really were exciting to see our little girls cheer their hearts out.”
The Granite Hills cheerleaders took all of the little girls into the mini gym to do a run through of all the routines. The girls then entered the gym and sat to watch their peers dance. Afterwards they were given goodie bags with candy, a picture, and a cd of all the music from the day.
“My daughter has attended this camp for the last four years and I am continually impressed with the professional product Mrs. Boyer and the cheerleaders create year after year,” stated English teacher at Granite Evan Hackett.

The little girls attending this event, looked like they had an extraordinary time. The cheerleaders entertained them and this event encouraged them to become a cheerleader someday and enjoy the fun.

Those little girls look like they are having so much fun. They had a nice experience at the camp by the look on their faces. Maybe most of them will continue and become cheerleaders in high school.
