Drink plenty of water AND milk. Water helps keep your body healthy and hydrated, while milk has calcium to help build strong bones.
Listen to your body! Take note when you feel full and do not over eat. Eating too much can make you feel uncomfortable and over a period of time, can lead to unhealthy weight gain.

UC Santa Cruz is a public university like no other in California, combining the intimacy of a small, liberal arts college with the depth and rigor of a major research university. UCSC opened in 1965 with 650 students. Forty-five years later, the campus is home to nearly 15,000 undergraduates and 1,500 graduate students.

La preparatoria de Granite Hills celebra su feria anual de libros en la biblioteca a partir del lunes 16 de abril al Viernes, 20 de abril. Este año, el tema de la feria es hawaiano.
Catherine May, es la encargada de la biblioteca y supervisora de la feria de libros. Este año decidió promocionar el evento usando BOGO, el cual significa compra un libro y recibe otro gratis.
“BOGO es una gran manera de interesar a los estudiantes en la literatura,” dijo la Sra. May.
Los estudiantes coinciden en que BOGO es una manera inteligente de promover la importancia de la literatura.
“Comprar y recibir otro gratis es una excelente manera de promover la importancia y el significado de los libros,” dijo estudiante de Granite Hills de su último año, Martín Ayala.
A muchos estudiantes, les encanta la idea de comprar libros a bajo precio. Los estudiantes creen que la feria de libros no sólo es una buena manera de recaudar dinero para la escuela, sino también una gran oportunidad para mostrar la importancia de los libros.
“Creo que el concepto de la feria de libros es una gran idea. Prácticamente con el adelanto de la tecnología los estudiantes no aprecian los libros tanto como lo hacían antes,” dijo Ayala. “Sin embargo, gracias a los organizadores de esta feria de libros, los estudiantes tienen ahora la oportunidad de ver que los libros no son aburridos u obligatorios.”
La feria de libros ofrece una gran variedad de todo tipo de libros y otros artículos como lápices y otros materiales relacionados con la escuela.
Es emocionante ver todos los libros interesantes y divertidos que se venden en la feria de libros. Hay diferentes libros con diversos temas que pueden satisfacer cualquier tipo de lector.
La Sra. May planea combinar el dinero de la feria del libro anterior con el dinero de la actual y utilizarlo para una buena causa.
“Acumulamos 250 dólares en la previa feria de libros y decidimos guardarlo y combinarlo con el dinero de esta feria de libros,” dijo la Sra. May. “Tenemos la intención de usarlo para comprar algunos libros para la biblioteca, para la festividad de libros y para salones de clases.”
Debido a los exámenes, la biblioteca junto con la feria de libros sólo está abierta antes de la escuela y durante el almuerzo.
