Walking around campus and looking at the students, one person you may have passed and never really had a second thought about, could have been Don Smith.

“I wouldn’t say I’m well known, but I know quite a few people,” said Smith.

Smith is a well-rounded student and basketball player with two advanced placement classes. This may not be surprising, but what a lot of people do not know about Smith, is that he has an extensive shoe collection

Smith does not just go out and buy shoes though, he collects significant pairs to match his wardrobe.

“I have 35 pairs of shoes,” said Smith, “They have to match my clothes, so I buy my clothes first then get my shoes.”

This collection does not come cheap. Smith works for his money over the summer in Washington, picking cherries.

In addition to his shoe collection, Smith has an abundant amount of hats; 17 to be exact

“I had about 30 snapbacks at one point, but decided to sell some because 30 were kind of pushing how many I need.”

He is not just a man of fashion; he is also a man of thrill. During his free time, Smith also likes to ride motocross.

“It clears my mind,” said Smith, “it’s a nice escape.”

With all of his time being taken up by school, sports, and work, it is surprising that Smith would have time for family, but he makes time for those closest to him by taking advantage of the rest of his free time.

“We take little trips like to the movies or shopping. We always make time for each other,” said Smith.

Smith is a contradiction in himself as he is a fashionable athlete and family man.
