No offense to other players, but if you wanted quotes you should have came to an avid guitar player who could describe a guitars set up and fret note reading.
I understand what you're saying, but you have to realize that it's a beginning guitar class. If anything, beginners should be quoted.

This year, there is a new class on campus.

The Introduction to Classical Guitar class is taught by band director, Kenny Ormonde.

This is the first year that the course is offered at Granite Hills. The other high schools in the Porterville Unified School District currently offer intro to acoustic guitar, but Ormonde wanted to offer something unique to Granite Hills.

The result is two periods of the classical guitar class.

Ormonde bases the class off of an actual college course, making this a college prep class. This class would be equal to the first two semesters of a course offered at Notre Dame de Namur University in the Bay Area.

Ormonde hopes the class teaches the students many things.

"I want the kids to have a great beginning understanding of the instrument," said Ormonde.

Students in the class are very excited to be a part of it.

"It's cool that I'm learning more than I did last year in other classes and Ormonde is a good teacher and he is patient, which is a plus,” said sophomore Samantha Valadez, “I hope to learn how to play at least one song."

"I think it's great,” said sophomore Gustavo Rodriguez, “I hope to get more music to play, and maybe one day to play a song for someone."

"This [class] is a really unique place to be. I wanted to bring something unique to Granite," said Ormonde.
